DELPHOS — Jefferson Middle School student Elizabeth Chung had an idea for a “Save It or Shave It” fundraiser to raise funds for the Blake Wagoner family.

Wagoner is a fifth-grade student at Landeck Elementary who was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago.

The contest promised if it raised $450, middle school teacher Chad Laman would let the students shave his head at an assembly. As the contest progressed, teachers Ben Rahrig and Doug Rosenbauer challenged the students to raise $1,000 and they would allow them to share their heads also.

The students met the challenge and raised $1,000.88.
