VAN WERT – Citizens gathered at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center Tuesday afternoon to hear who will take the stage for the NPAC season 12 which is being referred to as the “Ignite” season.

To kick-start the season, country superstar Trace Adkins will be making a trip to the Van Wert stage.

Fresh off his movie role in “I Can Only Imagine,” Adkins will electrify the stage on Sept. 9. This Nashville icon with 11 million albums sold, is ready to rock the Niswonger with fan-favorite hits. This fiery performance will set the season into motion.

Known as Charlie Hustle and Baseball’s Hit King, Pete Rose slides into residents’ lives with “An Evening With Pete Rose Live!” on Sept. 22. The stage will be transformed into a field of memories in this Broadway-style theatrical event that captures the golden years of America’s pastime with an All-Star like no other.

Back by extreme popular demand, Under The Streetlamp electrifies the Enrich Community Concert Series on Sept. 29. With an evening of classic hits from the American Radio Songbook, their tight harmonies and slick dance moves will light a fire under every fan.

Motivational Speaker, Author, and former Major League Baseball pitcher, Mike Robbins will help listeners energize their lives on Oct. 4. Author of four books, Bobbins is an expert in teamwork, leadership, and emotional intelligence. Traveling the world to deliver keynotes and seminars, he empowers and motivates his clients, including Google, Microsoft, Charles Schwab, and soon-to-be Central Insurance Group.

Meet The Miracle Season Author, Coach Kathy Bresnahan on Oct. 7. Coach Brez shares the story of her team’s state victory after overcoming the tragic death of their star player, Caroline Found. Coach Brez and Caroline’s father, Dr. Ernie Found, will share the story of the inspiring girl and the leadership that surrounded a team of athletes at a time of great struggle. This Speaker Series event is also the season’s Community Book Read. The Miracle Season gained heightened acclaim and touched many lives through the movie starring Helen Hunt that was recently released in theaters.

The Illusionists, Live from Broadway, is a mind-blowing spectacular showcasing the jaw-dropping talents of five of the most incredible illusionists on earth. Their astonishing acts are filled with the thrilling and sophisticated magic of unprecedented proportions. With humor, outrageous production designs and rocking music, prepare to be amazed on Oct. 11.

Be prepared for laughter, music, and worship on Oct. 14 when Mark Lowry takes the stage with his wit and musical talent. Best known for singing baritone with the Gaither Vocal Band, Mark will be joined by Brian Free and Assurance. This southern gospel, award-winning quartet, and Mark Lowry will blend perfectly for an uplifting evening of praise and encouragement.

Jazz multi-platinum-selling artist, Boney James, returns to the Niswonger on Oct. 20. This four-time Grammy nominated artist has a signature style that falls on the R&B and Pop side of Jazz. Performing his original music, Boney James ignites the audience with his engaging performance.

Grammy award winners and members of the Grand Ole Opry, Dailey & Vincent, debut as the Founder’s Choice event of the season presented by Scott and Nikki Niswonger on Oct. 27. Their concoction of vocal blends with Dailey’s tenor and Vincent’s reedy harmonies have gained them well-deserved praise for their distinctive style and worldwide recognition as American Music gold.

On Nov. 9, music icon Amy Grant returns to Van Wert with a performance that includes hits from a lifetime musical career. Grant has achieved 10 top-40 pop singles and placed 17 hits on the top 40 contemporary charts. Her contemporary Christian music opens hearts with a message of hope and grace.

The Christmas Season comes alive at the Niswonger on Nov. 24 and 25 with the most loved Christmas show of all time, Christmas Wonderland. Be dazzled by glittering costumes, a stunning cast and the highest kicking Chorus Girls this side of the North pole!

Start Christmas in style as Santa and his merry helpers take audiences on an unforgettable nostalgic Christmas journey the whole family will love.

Returning to the Niswonger Stage on Dec. 1 is Tchaikovsky’s beloved Nutcracker Ballet performed by The Ballet Theater of Toledo. Set to the music of a Live Pit Orchestra, the audience will be swept away by lavish costumes and spectacular choreography. Delight the family with a night of sugar plum fairies and oh-so-sweet memories.

On Dec. 8, share Christmas with one of the music world’s most recognizable voices. Michael McDonald! This five-time Grammy award winner’s career spans more than 45 years and includes singing with Steely Dan and the Doobie Brothers before a successful solo career. Christmas and Hits with Michael McDonald will truly be an epic night of Christmas merrymaking. The Western Front, Christmas 1914. Out of the violence a silence, then a song. A German soldier steps into No Man’s Land singing “Stille Nacht.” Thus begins an extraordinary night of camaraderie, music, and peace.

On Dec. 16, All Is Calm, The Christmas Truce of 1914 will captivate the audience as the ultimate spectacle of peace is portrayed in this very moving stage production. This powerful show is part of the popular Enrich Community Concert Series.

National Geographic Photographer David Doubilet has spent nearly half of his life in the sea, taking his first underwater photograph at the age of 12. Considered the world’s leading underwater photographer, Doubilet has introduced a generation to the mystery and wonder of the deep. He has photographed more than 70 stories for National Geographic- reporting on coral reefs, historic shipwrecks, ocean predators, and exotic marine creatures. Get up close and personal with his photographed tales of adventure Jan. 27.

Times have changed, but the music of Jefferson Starship remains as relevant as ever. Massive hits like “White Rabbit,” “Somebody to Love,” “Volunteers,” and “We Built This City” continue to reverberate in pop culture today. On Feb, 2, these legendary rockers will go to the edge, push the sonic boundaries, and stay true to the spirit of the music.

The King’s Singers, who are in global demand for their life-affirming virtuosity and irresistible charm, are celebrating 50 years! This British a cappella group is performing on Feb. 16 as part of The Enrich Community Concert Series. The King’s Singers are the best in vocal ensemble performance and will astound the audience with their style, blend, and sound.

“Smile, you’re on Candid Camera!” For over eight decades, this phrase was entwined in American culture. Candid Camera, 8 Decades Of Smiles host Peter Funt brings the phrase back to life in a hilarious and interactive stage show on Feb. 24. Audience participation and surprises are all part of the fun.

It’s A Great Day To Be Alive on March 2 when country great, Travis Tritt brings his guitar and nearly endless hit list to the Niswonger. Tritt’s acoustic concerts have elevated his legacy through the incredible quality of his voice and the up-close and personal event that provides a glimpse into the artist’s life. Travis Tritt will bring a country reunion to the Niswonger as the audience celebrates his hits that have spanned two decades.

And He Was STILL Hungry! Eric Carle’s timeless classic, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, will come to life on stage Sunday, March 10. This critically acclaimed production features 75 stage sized lovable puppets that will captivate children and bring reading time to vivid life.

The Texas Tenors have performed to standing ovations, and three sold-out shows at the Niswonger. To close out the Enrich Community Concert Series, the popular singing Cowboys are back on March 16 with Let Freedom Sing, an all-new patriotic concert that will set spirits soaring and hearts filled with pride.

RAIN: A Tribute To The Beatles presents Abbey Road on March 17. In celebration of the anniversary of the release of Abbey Road. RAIN will bring the greatest hits to life in addition to all the Beatles early favorites. Experience the worlds’ most iconic band with an all-new mind-blowing stage production of Abbey Road with RAIN: A Tribute To The Beatles.

Church Basement Ladies returns with Rise Up O Men on March 24. This all-new musical comedy invites the men of the church into the kitchen. The year is 1964, and these hardworking men unintentionally disrupt the order of the kitchen, but that’s what happens when you let the roosters in the hen house.

Experience Christian Pop-Rockers, Sanctus Real, April 14 as they begin a new era. With a fresh voice on lead vocals, while expanding their songwriting – they are igniting a new modern sound for the band while performing all their hits.
