VAN WERT — The following individuals appeared before Judge Martin Burchfield in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:

Monday

Arraignment

Dustin Akers, 40, Lima, entered a not guilty plea to failure to provide an address as a sex offender, a felony 4. He was released on a surety bond with pretrial set for July 23.

Tuesday

Bill of information

Justin Reynolds, 27, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to a Prosecutor’s Bill of Information charging him with telecommunications harassment, a felony 5. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Aug. 13. The defendant also admitted to violating his bond by failing to report to probation. He was released on a surety bond with conditions that he maintain employment, verify employment to probation, be at home from 9 p.m. until 5:30 a.m. and report to probation weekly.

Wednesday

Bond violation

Nicole Conn, 41, Van Wert, admitted to violating her bond by testing positive for meth and Ecstasy. She was released on a surety bond on the condition that she enter a treatment program in Manistee, Michigan. Pre-trial scheduled for Aug. 30.

Arraignment

amber baker, 28, Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of illegal conveyance of drugs into jail, a felony 3; and aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5. She was released on a surety bond with pretrial set for Aug. 15.

Allissa Rooks, 26, Paulding, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5. She was released on a surety bond with pretrial set for July 24.

Competency hearing

Anthony Sexton, 53, Van Wert, appeared before the court for a hearing on his motion to be examined regarding his sanity at the time of the offense. Following an examination at Court Diagnostic in Toledo, he was found to be fit to stand trial.

Sentencing

Shannon Augustus, 28, Ohio City, sexual imposition, a misdemeanor 3. Sentenced to: two years community control, 60 days jail, 50 days suspended, jail begins July 23, 52 hours community service, mental health and substance abuse assessment, one year intensive probation, Tier 1 sex offender classification and was ordered to pay costs and partial appointed counsel fees.

Ryan Schaadt, 33, Van Wert, trafficking marijuana, a felony 3; aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 3; and aggravated trafficking drugs, a felony 5. Sentence: 36 months prison on the trafficking marijuana charge; 36 months prison on the aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 3, consecutive; and 12 months prison for the felony 5 charge, concurrent with the other two, with credit for 68 days already served. Cash seized at the time of his arrest was forfeited to the Van Wert Police Department. He was also ordered to pay costs.

Idris Nuriddean, 42, Van Wert, aggravated trafficking drugs, a felony 4, Sentenced: three years community control, 60 days jail beginning Monday, an additional 300 days jail at later date, 200 hours community service, drug and alcohol testing, substance abuse assessment and treatment, two years intensive probation, forfeit cash and scales seized at the time of his arrest to the Van Wert Police Department and he was ordered to pay costs, monthly probation fee, and partial appointed counsel fees.

Change of plea

Richard Raber, 26, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 5. He then requested and was granted Treatment in Lieu of Conviction and his case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

Donald O’Day, 41, Van Wert, entered a guilty plea to aggravated possession of drugs, a felony 3. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Aug. 30.

Time waiver

Milo Holt, Jr, 19, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his case. Pre-trial July 25. Bond continued.
