SULLIVAN, Illinois — Francis J. "Frank" Nomina, 82, of Sullivan Illinois, formerly of Monticello, Indiana, passed away at 6:32 pm Monday at Mason Point in Sullivan with family by his side.

He was born May 25, 1937, in Delphos to Francis C. and Agnes M. (Bendele) Nomina. On Nov. 24, 1956, in Delphos, he married Barbara "Barb" Sickels, who preceded him in death on Dec. 1, 2014.

Most of Frank's career was spent as a very respected member of the trailer industry. He was in accounting with Fruehauf Corporation in Detroit, MI; was plant manager at Fruehauf Corporation in Harrisburg/Middletown, Pennsylvanis, and Ft. Madison, Iowa; vice president of manufacturing at HPA Monon and plant superintendant at Vanguard Trailers in Monon, Indiana. After retiring from the trailer industry, he enjoyed working at the Monticello Country Club maintaining the golf course outside his backyard. Frank was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus in Monticello and a member of St. Columcille Catholic Church in Sullivan.

Frank was a true family man. He cherished time spent with family including holiday gatherings, trips to the shore, cookouts in the backyard and supporting his grandchildren at their various events. His legacy as described by family is humble, generous, patient, compassionate, indiscriminate, encourager, benevolent, positive, samaritan and 'Grand.'

Survivors include his children, Cindy (Dan) Marrow of Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, Kevin (Sally) Nomina of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Michelle (Joe) Keller of Sullivan; grandchildren, Victoria Marrow of Wormleysburg, Pennsylvania, Danielle Nomina of Monticello, Kayla Nomina of Maui, Hawaii, and Eric Keller, Maddie Keller and Alec Keller of Sullivan; great-granddaughters, Lily Everett of Monticello and Selah Marrow of Lemoyne; brother, William Nomina of Delphos; and sisters, Diana Gordon (Randy) Tacey of Bremerton, Washington, Sharon (Richard) Stepleton and Mary Jane (Jim) Schulte of Delphos, Nanette (Andy) Kill of Troutdale, Oregon, Rose (Mike) Mox of Lima and Barb (Rick) Recker of Delphos.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Nomina; a daughter, Debbie Nomina; a granddaughter, Ashley Marrow; a brother-in-law, Bob Gordon; and sister-in-law Karen Nomina.

A funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church, 543 S. Main Street, Monticello, IN 47960, with Father David Rasner officiating. A luncheon will follow the Mass in Fosselman Hall next to the church. Burial will be at a later date at the Resurrection Cemetary in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Memorials may be given to Covenant House (Donation Processing, PO Box 96708, Washington, D.C. 20090-6708) a homeless shelter for kids which he has donated to since 1989; a cause for kids from a man who loved his kids.
