LIMA — Linda Kay Hefner, 66, passed away at 7:41 a.m. Sunday at her home.

Linda was born Dec. 30, 1951, in Defiance to Wayne and Catherine (McCullough) Lee, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 9, 1997, she married Gary Hefner, who survives in Lima.

Linda was a 1969 graduate of Oakwood High School and a 1973 graduate of Findlay College. Before retiring in 2009, Linda taught school for 35 years, 23 of which were at Delphos Jefferson High School. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Elida, Ohio where she played the piano, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.

She is also survived by two children, Nathan (Noel) McKanna of Mesquite, Texas, and Lindsay (Nathan) Haines of Lima; seven grandchildren, Katherine, Zoe, Karson, Noble, Wesley, Kash and Oliver; two brothers, William (Jill) Lee of Greenfield and James Lee of Ayersville; sister, Brenda (William) Bowen of Middletown; in-laws, Ronald and Darlene Hefner of Lima; and two brothers-in-law, Michael (Cindy) Hefner and Mark (Beth) Hefner, both of Howell, Michigan.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Baptist Church, 4750 East Rd, Elida, Pastor Tom Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
