FORT WAYNE, Indiana — Good Food Restaurants, a family-owned, Lima-based restaurant company, announced Tuesday that it will open the 10th location of its popular Beer Barrel Pizza & Grill in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The restaurant, located at the Jefferson Pointe Shopping Center, will occupy a 7,989 square foot end cap space and will feature a 350 seat dining room, custom built hickory furniture, a carryout/pick up area, a full bar, and a wood burning fireplace. The new location at Jefferson Pointe is anticipated to open late summer 2021.

Beer Barrel offers a large menu of unique appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entrees, and its signature three styles of made-from-scratch pizza including its Thin & Crispy Style, Beer Barrel Deep Dish, and award-winning Original Beer Barrel Style. With a focus on great food served at reasonable prices in a warm, friendly, and energetic atmosphere, Beer Barrel is as perfect for family gatherings as it is for grabbing a drink and catching the game. Its full bar specializes in a wide array of 24 classic and craft beers on draft, as well as an extensive menu of bottled beer. With a strong track record of collaborations with local breweries, Beer Barrel looks forward to collaborating with the Fort Wayne brewing community.

For many years after its founding in 1965, Beer Barrel’s one location on Lima’s industrial south side was a much-loved gathering place for friends and family known for its great pizza and relaxed atmosphere. In 2005, the original location was acquired by longtime restaurateur John Heaphy and his wife Aimee. The restaurant was temporarily closed for an expansion and renovation. The re-opened Beer Barrel featured an expanded menu and updated lodge-style design and was an immediate hit.

Today, Beer Barrel Pizza & Grill has nine locations in Lima, St. Mary’s, Findlay, Toledo and Columbus and continues to be family-owned and operated as a part of the Heaphy family’s Good Food Restaurants group.

“We are very humbled and excited to introduce Beer Barrel to Fort Wayne,” said president and founder John Heaphy. “Being only an hour away, for years we’ve had many people ask us to bring Beer Barrel to Fort Wayne. When we were approached by Red Development to join their community at Jefferson Pointe, it just seemed like a natural fit. We are excited about the investments that Red Development has made in Jefferson Pointe, along with the commitment that the city of Fort Wayne has shown to the shopping center. We’re so excited to share our vision of warm, family-friendly hospitality with the people of Allen County.”

“We are excited to welcome Beer Barrel to Jefferson Pointe in the summer,” says Amy Lopez, VP of Marketing for RED Development. “Beer Barrel’s family-friendly environment complete with great food is the perfect addition to our family oriented development.”
