  • OHSAA member schools pass all eight referendum items

    COLUMBUS -- Ohio High School Athletic Association member schools have passed all eight proposed revisions to the OHSAA Bylaws, Executive Director Daniel B. Ross, Ph.D., announced Wednesday. The ballot counting procedure was conducted at the OHSAA office Wednesday following the deadline for schools to submit ballots Tuesday at 4 p.m.
  • Miller, Post, and Valenti take checkers at Limaland on FAST Friday Night

    Beautiful weather greeted the fans and teams at Limaland Motorsports Park on FAST Friday Night presented by the Stolly Insurance Group.  The JLH General Contractors FAST 305 Championship Series presented by Engine Pro invaded the high banks of Limaland for the first time in 2018 with Fremont Ohio's Jamie Miller picking up the feature win in the Ryan French owned No. 26.  In the K&N Filters UMP Modifieds, No. 45P Brian Post picked up his first career Limaland victory.  Shawn Valenti made it 2 in a row in Bud Thunderstock competition, winning in the Jeff Babcock owned No. 7b.

    CONVOY — The Crestview Knights kicked off a week of action on Monday night as the Delphos St. John’s Blue Jays came to the Crestview Sporting Complex. The Knights were able to run-rule the Blue Jays by a score of 11-1.

    DELPHOS – The Lincolnview Lancers closed the game early by defeating the Jefferson Wildcats 18-0 Monday in five innings. Creed Jesse pitch a complete game shutout and held the Cats to just five hits in route to their overwhelming victory.

    DELPHOS – Van Wert took an early lead to hold off the Blue Jays, 6-3 in ACME baseball Friday. Josh Halker pitched a complete game for the Cougars and earned the win, while racking up seven strikeouts.
  • Lancers rally to beat Grove in ACME

    MIDDLE POINT – For the second straight game, the Lincolnview Acme team was barely able to field nine players. This time the Lancers were missing five starters – all playing in other leagues – but once again the inexperienced freshmen and sophomores were up to the task, helping to pull out a wild 11-10 win over Columbus Grove. Lincolnview is now 5-3-1. Grove is 1-2.

    MIDDLE POINT – The Lincolnview Acme team had a total of nine players for Wednesday’s game, and with four regular starters missing, the Lancers needed contributions from some different sources. They got those in a 4-1 win – along with an excellent pitching performance by a not-unexpected source, Creed Jessee. Lincolnview is now 4-3-1; Crestview is 3-3.

  • Cougars blank Cats, 8-0

    DELPHOS – The Van Wert Cougars put on a hitting clinic in the fifth inning to surge past the Jefferson Wildcats in ACME baseball Wednesday. Lennon Bartley kept the Jefferson bats at bay by only allowing two hits in six innings of work as Van Wert took home the road win, 8-0.
