CONVOY — Jefferson came away with an extra-innings win over Crestview on Wednesday, outscoring the Knights 18-10.

The game was scoreless until the bottom of the fourth when Crestview took advantage of mishaps by the Wildcats to put four on the board. A walk and an error put two runners on early in the inning before Trevor Sheets singled to break the deadlock.

Carson Hunter was hit by a pitch and another error by the Jefferson infield helped the Knights enjoy a 4-0 lead.

Crestview walked seven batters in the top half off the sixth inning and gave the Wildcats a 10-4 lead. Jaden Lucas had an RBI single and Braylon Scalf added an RBI double to the mix.

Jefferson looked to put it away in the seventh inning but couldn’t hold off the Knights late-game rally. Logan Gerardot dropped in a single and Sheets came through in the clutch with a double to help tie the game at 10-10.

The Wildcat offense continued to produce in extra innings. Six hits led to eight additional runs for Jefferson that included doubles by Logan Herron and Logan Murray.
