CONVOY — Crestview used an offensive explosion on Friday evening to grab an 11-3 victory over St. John’s on senior night in Convoy.

Ayden Lichtensteiger, Trevor Sheets and Grant Mefferd combined for seven of their team’s eight RBIs. Sheets was the only Knight to record a multihit game, going two for three, and Lichtensteiger drove in a team high three runs.

Jacob Forewerck started the game on the mound, giving up only two earned runs and receiving a tough luck no-decision for his outing as he left the game in a 2-2 tie.

Trevor Sheets earned the win after pitching three innings of scoreless relief while striking out three.

Trent Lindeman took the mound for the Blue Jays first four innings, keeping the Crestview offense in check letting just three runs cross the plate while striking out six.

Lincoln Mueller was pinned with the loss after he gave up three runs of his own in one inning of relief.

On the offensive side, Mueller accounted for both of his team’s RBIs, as their third run was the result of an error.

It was Mueller’s RBI double that pushed St. John’s out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

The Knights would answer back in the bottom of the inning, scoring one when Logan Gerardot crossed the plate on a wild pitch.

Trevor Sheets used an RBI double to tie the game up at two in the bottom of the third.

Crestview blew the game wide open in the late innings when they scored four runs in the fifth, and five runs in the sixth.

Ayden Lichtensteiger kicked off the scoring in the fifth when he singled in Kaden Short. Grant Mefferd followed his lead by doubling in Trevor Sheets and Michael Joseph to open up a 6-3 lead.

Sheets picked up the Knights last RBI of the game in the sixth as a part of a five run inning filled with mistakes from the defense in their final at bat.

Crestview will take on Lincolnview in Middle Point on Monday, the same day as Jefferson will host Van Wert. Both games will start at 6 p.m.
