LIMA — The Lady Cats continued their march through the 2020-21 girls basketball season with a 41-33 win against Shawnee on Tuesday night. Aly Lindeman led Jefferson with 15 points and Lyv Lindeman added 14.

Mallory Bridges and Lauren French each finished the game with six points. Lyv Lindeman had a double-double as she added 10 rebounds and French had 9 boards.

"Shawnee came out ready and we were flat," said Jefferson head coach Denise Lindeman. "The girls battled in the second with great defense and held them scoreless in the fourth quarter."

The Wildcats have now won four straight and improve to 12-2 on the year. They sit in first place in the NWC and will face conference rival Crestview on Thursday in Convoy.

Jefferson announced on Monday that all girls varsity and junior varsity games will be held at the high school for the remainder of the season.

“After playing a game at the middle school, the girls would rather stay where they practice and where their locker room is at,” said Jefferson athletic director Kent Smelser. “I believe this is the best decision moving forward.”

Games against Wayne Trace, Paulding, Ottoville and Spencerville that were originally scheduled to be played at the middle school will now be played at the high school. Junior high boys games will go back to the middle school for Paulding on Jan. 19 and Kalida on Jan. 21.
