MIDDLE POINT — Collin Overholt and Landon Price combined for four hits on the way to a Lincolnview win over Crestview on Monday night.

Overholt and Price were the only players in the game to record two hits.

Gavin Carter started the game on the mound for the Lancers, grabbing the win after going 2.0 innings and striking out three.

Clayton Leeth struck first for his team in the bottom of the first when he grounded into a fielder’s choice that scored Carter and Overholt to give the home team an early 2-0 lead.

Jared Kesler singled in the Lancers third run of the inning before the Knights would escape the trouble, but it wouldn’t last long as Lincolnview grabbed two more runs in the second as a result of a single from Landon Price and a triple from Collin Overholt.

Crestview stayed scoreless all the way until the top of the fifth inning when Carson Hunter doubled in Nathan Lichtle to make the score 5-1.

After the Lancers added a sixth run in the bottom of the frame, the Knights exploded for a four run inning in the sixth. Ayden Lichtensteiger’s RBI single was the highlight of offensive outburst.

Unfortunately for Crestview, 6-5 is as close as they were able to get as Lincolnview would hold on for the win.

Carson Hunter took the loss for the Knights after being tagged in the early innings by the Lincolnview bats.

Keegan Farris and Carson Fox combined to go 3.1 innings in relief for the Lancers, giving up five runs (three earned), before Clayton Leeth finished off the last 1.2 innings, striking out two batters to hold on for the narrow victory.

Nathan Lichtle led the Knights with two RBIs. Carson Hunter, Trevor Sheets and Ayden Lichtensteiger also drove runs in on the evening.

Lincolnview will be back in action on Wednesday against Van Wert, the same day that Crestview will host Jefferson. Both games are slated for a 6 p.m. first pitch.
