FORT JENNINGS — St. John’s scored three runs in the first inning but couldn’t stop the Musketeers in a 7-3 loss on Thursday night.

Zane Wertenberger got things going early for the Jays with a two RBI single that scored J.J. Bonifas and Gavin Fittro. Lincoln Mueller walked and later scored to give St. John’s a 3-0 lead.

A run in the third and one more in the fourth cut the lead down to 3-2 before a huge four run inning in the fifth swung the advantage back to Fort Jennings.

The Musketeers tacked on another in the sixth and held on for a 7-3 win over the Blue Jays. Avery Schulte took the loss after pitching one and one-third innings. He gave up four earned runs while starter Trent Lindeman threw for three innings and walked seven.
