ANTWERP — The Jefferson volleyball team lost 3-1 to the Archers on Monday. After winning the first set, the Lady Cats dropped three straight and put their record at 4-6 on the year.

Delaney Deuel led the Wildcats with seven kills and three blocks. Courtney Teman and Mallory Bridges had six kills a piece and Jayla Rostorfer had a team-high 12 digs.

Jefferson took the first set 26-24 before dropping the second set 25-13. Things didn’t get much better in the third set as Antwerp dominated with a 25-8 victory. The Lady Cats battled back in the fourth but came up short 25-17.

Archer sophomore Astianna Coppes led her team with 16 kills and a block.

Jefferson will begin the NWC part of their schedule toady at Bluffton.


OTTOVILLE — New Knoxville defeated the Lady Green in three straight sets on Monday, 25-16, 25-17 and 25-21. The Rangers were led by Ellie Gabel, who had 14 kills.

Ottoville slips to 2-6 (0-1 PCL) and will host Wayne Trace on Thursday.



SHAWNEE TWP. — Shawnee handled Ottoville in a non-league matchup Saturday afternoon 25-17, 25-18, 25-19.

Kylee Hoersten had 19 assists and 10 digs for the Big Green, while Elise Kramer had six kills and two aces. Tara Heitmeyer had six kills on the day and Rachel Kemper had four kills and 13 digs.

Shawnee won the junior varsity match 25-16, 25-21.


KALIDA — The Lady Jays lost to Van Buren and Springfield but beat Kalida 2-0 at the Kalida Invite on Saturday. St. John’s defeated the Wildcats in the match for seventh place at the event.

Liberty Benton defeated Fairview to win the Invitational.
