COLUMBUS — Despite three turnovers, Ohio State defeated the Nittany Lions 28-17 in a cold and wet Ohio Stadium on Saturday.

J.K. Dobbins rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns and quarterback Justin Fields added 103 yards on the ground on 21 carries.

Dobbins capped off a 91-yard drive with a four-yard touchdown run to give the Buckeyes a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. Fields had a chance to score later in the first but fumbled at the one-yard line and turned the ball over to Penn State.

Dobbins found paydirt again with 2:00 remaining in the opening half. his one-yard run made it 14-0 at halftime.

Fields found K.J. Hill on a 24-yard touchdown pass to extend Ohio State’s lead to 21-0 early in the third quarter but turnovers continued to plague the Buckeyes. They ended up costing them 17 unanswered points in less than four minutes.

Ohio State responded with a 28-yard touchdown from Fields to Chris Olave early in the fourth quarter as the Buckeyes held on for the victory.

Chase Young made a big return to Ohio Stadium by racking up nine tackles and three sacks.

With the win, the Bucks clinch the Big 10 East Division and will likely play Minnesota in the Championship on Dec. 7. Ohio State will play Michigan on Saturday at noon.
